Comments from Barbara's last webinar:
  • Barbara always has great timely information. Thanks!
  • Barbara does a great job - excellent speaker and very well prepared. If I need to buy a new kindle, I now know how to deactivate it before trading in. Also an planning to do dual monitors as she does.
  • Excellent overview of computer tech in genealogy.
  • Excellent Presentation! Good review and for many the password section may be a game saver!
  • Excellent webinar! Barbara is a very clear, concise, and coherent speaker. Looking forward to her next webinar.
  • Great presentation. Information very well put together and enjoyed it very much.
  • Great run through history...I started in the day of vacuum tube diodes. Some good web sources...highly appreciated.
  • I always learn new things in these webinars. This was a journey down memory lane as I have been using computers since 1981. I'm fascinated with all that we can do now in the digital age. I went to college before there were photocopy machines! All notes had to be handwritten. Now I learn that the schools aren't teaching cursive writing anymore...we better transcribe as many early records as we can or our descendents won't be able to read them.
  • I love the trip down memory lane and the "high-tech" we thought we were in 20+ years ago. My first college degree was an AA in MicroComputer applications (back in the days of DOS). I remember our first internet connection (AOL) and the hours and hours it would take to download anything.
  • It was an interesting review of how much this great endeavor has changed over time. will no doubt tie up the rest of my afternoon!
  • Learned a great deal about new resources, new ways of searching databases... lots of talk about upcoming changes in computers, gadgets, and the cloud. Any one of them could be a separate webinar from her! Cheers.
  • Learned lots and so happy we are now in the 'web' era!
  • Really appreciate seeing how had to do genealogy before the gadgets made it easier. Those ones where pioneers. I've only been doing this a few years.
  • Thank you very much for sharing her website, zroots, can't wait to go to it and start researching. Wonderful talk today!!!!!!!!!!
  • This webinar was really entertaining and interesting. I really appreciated the suggestions for writing strong passwords.
  • Tremendous tip regarding password naming conventions. I can eliminate my 8-page Excel spreadsheet! Yea!
  • Very interesting. I really enjoyed reliving the earlier days of genealogy.
  • WOW! My head is spinning with all the information! Thanks so much! What gadgets are down the road in the next few years?
